Pupil and Family Pastoral Lead

 

 

At St Edward's, Mrs Scott is our Pastoral Lead in school. She provides guidance, support, and care for the overall well-being and development of pupils and families. Mrs Scott plays a crucial role in creating a positive and inclusive school environment where our pupils can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

  1. Pupil Welfare: Our Pastoral Lead is responsible for ensuring the welfare of all pupils at St Edwards. Mrs Scott is a point of contact for pupils and their families, offering support and advice on a range of issues such as behaviour, mental health, and personal well-being. Mrs Scott may collaborate with external agencies and professionals to provide additional support when needed.

  2. Behaviour Management: Our Pastoral Lead helps to establish and maintain a positive and respectful school climate. Mrs Scott works closely with pupils, teachers, and parents to address behavioural concerns, implement behaviour management strategies, and promote positive attitudes and values within our school community.

  3. Personal Development: Our Pastoral Lead assists our pupils in their personal and social development. Mrs Scott organises workshops, assemblies, or programs that focus on topics such as self-esteem, resilience, conflict resolution, and responsible decision-making. She also encourages students to engage in extracurricular activities, fostering a sense of belonging with our pupils and personal growth.

  4. Bullying and Safeguarding: Our Pastoral Lead works closely with pupils. parents and staff to address incidents of bullying and promote a safe and inclusive school environment. She helps develop and implement policies and procedures to prevent and respond to bullying, ensuring that students feel safe and supported. 

  5. Parental Engagement: Our Pastoral Lead maintains regular communication with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress, well-being, and any concerns. Mrs Scott may organise parent workshops, meetings, or events to foster positive relationships between home and school, encouraging parental involvement in their child's education and development.

  6. Collaboration: Our Pastoral Lead works closely with other staff members and external agencies to coordinate efforts in supporting our pupils.
