I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the website for St Edward’s RC Primary School.

There is much to celebrate at St Edward’s R.C. Primary School. Our school is a welcoming school where people are helpful, considerate and respectful of each other. A hive of creatively and excellence where the children are happy and enjoy learning.

Our mission is to foster an environment deeply rooted in our values of love, respect, honesty, compassion, forgiveness, and joy. We strive to create a community that embraces the teachings of Christ and nurtures the spiritual, intellectual, and personal growth of each student.

Guided by our Catholic faith and Mission, we are dedicated to instilling a genuine love for others, respecting the dignity and uniqueness of every individual. We believe in the transformative power of honesty and integrity, encouraging our pupils to be virtuous and truthful in their actions and relationships.

Compassion lies at the heart of our school, as we teach empathy, understanding, and a commitment to serving others, especially those in need. We emphasize the importance of forgiveness, fostering an environment of reconciliation and healing, allowing individuals to grow and thrive.

Finally, we celebrate the gift of joy, infusing our school with positivity, laughter, and a sense of gratitude for the blessings in our lives. Through these values, we strive to empower our pupils to become compassionate leaders, lifelong learners, and contributors to a more just and compassionate world. 

We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated team of governors, teachers, teaching assistants and other staff who strive to ensure that every child is successful, confident and responsible, equipped with all the skills they need to continue on their future learning journey.

Gospel values and our clear Mission Statement, Learning through Caring with God’s love, underpins all that we do. We work in partnerships with parents and carers, as first educators, and also our local parish Sacred Heart, to ensure that our children are nurtured to understand that they are unique and a truly special gift from God. We dearly value this partnership and the support and contribution they make to school life. Due to an effective home, school and parish work relationship, we are able to provide a happy, caring and effective learning environment, where expectations and standards are high.

We have carefully designed our curriculum to develop key skills, creativity and spirituality, encouraging confidence and opportunities for children to be excited about learning and challenged to achieve their very best.
